MERAGANG BEACH, Friday, 30 September 2023 – Two (02) officers and eighty-three (83) ratings from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) have carried out cleaning campaign activities at Meragang Beach commemorating the RBN's 58th Anniversary.
The cleaning campaign started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah to bless the afternoon's activity. The cleaning campaign led to the collection of 120kg of litter including plastic bottles, scraps, plastic containers and other non – biodegradable waste.
Apart from celebrating the RBN 58th anniversary, this event aims to make a positive impact and help raise awareness especially among RBN personnel, about the threat of litter to beaches and the marine ecosystem as well as to encourage all to be responsible in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of the beach. Finally, the campaign concluded with a group photo along with the collected bags of litters.
